What: Fort Collins Building Science and Beer for High-Performance, Attainable Housing Group
Who: This group is for those interested in the design and construction of high-performance, attainable housing. If you would like to increase the number of families who own high-performance (safe, healthy, sustainable, comfortable, etc.) homes, are passionate about value engineering, innovation, and efficient means and methods of construction, and enjoy sharing and learning, welcome!
Why: Two of our community's ambitious goals are that everyone in Fort Collins:
1) "has healthy, stable housing they can afford" (
HSP 2021)
2) "lives and works in healthy...and...efficient buildings which transition to...emissions free"
OCF
Big Move 6)
To achieve those goals we must innovate, collaborate, and increase our individual and collective positive impact. The impact will happen during planning, design, and construction, but periodcially meeting to discuss and debate building science and construction topics and (respectfully) challenge ourselves and each other can help us get the energy, knowledge, and relationships we will need to achieve our goals. (FC BSB is
not for the marketing or sales of products or services, or (simply) for socializing. Relationships and business will likely be nice byproducts, but our main goal is to discuss and debate important building construction topics.)
When: One evening per month from 7-9pm.
Where: Purpose Brewing on South Mason Street in Fort Collins, CO.
